_Raising the Banner of Jesus Christ

1:30am

Started work today. Worked on my client’s business sites, etc. Went on Facebook and Twitter in between tasks, posted the usual volume of status updates on the Gospel and Reformed/Biblical thought—a tremendous means of grace to partake in.

8 or so hours before the time, asked Kim if he wanted to go to University Belt today to go street witnessing with me. Glad he was enthusiastic to go.

8:30am

Got off work and went straight to bed to gather strength for street evangelism in the afternoon. Was glad that we were able to arrange an evangelism outreach today even in short notice.

11:30am

Woke up, ate my lunch.

1:00pm

Caught up with Kim on Facebook, talked about what time we’ll meet in the afternoon. Decided for 3pm. My back was killing me at this time, asked Kim for 30minutes more before leaving for University Belt.

3:00pm

Left for University Belt. Listened to John MacArthur while on the bus, Three Reasons to Fear God, off the Resolved 2008 Conference. Slept half way through the trip, and through the sermon.

4:00pm

Arrived at University Belt at McDonalds. Kim was waiting for 30minutes. Felt bad that I made him wait again. Was glad though to see him again after so long. Handed Kim his share of Gospel tracts. Kim showed me his new book on Jonathan Edwards. I thought it was a real great find. I pray to have my own copy in the future, or perhaps borrow Kim’s copy.

We talked a bit, catch up on some recent news of one another, prayed for the evangelism encounters and the working of the Holy Spirit upon us and the people that the Lord might prepare His sheep, went off to Far Eastern University (FEU).

Chatted a bit while in front of FEU to shake off the nerves and the sweaty palms. Kim was sweating already. We started giving out Gospel Tracts to people. I saw two girls just hanging out at the side walk waiting for their friend. They seem to be Nursing students. I approached them and gave each a Gospel Tract, both girls were friendly and gave me opportunity to have conversation with them, apparently they were Roman Catholics. Shared the Law and the Gospel to them as well as a warning that Rome’s “gospel” does not and cannot save. Was thankful to God for preparing their minds and hearts that they were attentive and receptive of the Gospel message. Pray that the Lord would find it pleasing to save them.

Kim approached the Key-chain vendor standing a meter or two from us. He bought a Kerokerokeropi key-chain and used it as an opportunity to share the Gospel to the vendor. Please pray that the Lord would save him.

I thought to myself of how much main stream evangelicalism today has so forgotten about the common man, the poor, needy and totally spiritually ignorant. Evangelicals today are too much concerned about feeding the poor yet too much neglect to give these people the Bread of Life.

Gave a bunch more Gospel tracts. My stack got depleted already. Got a couple of Kim’s tracts.

Took a break and went to Jollibee. Kim had “business” to attend to.

A guy tried to recruit me to the marketing gig of his organization in school, it was all too familiar already to me. I declined and instead gave him a gospel tract. Too bad he seemed too busy to have conversation with.

Kim finally arrived back from his “business”. We went back out and gave out Kim’s remaining Gospel tracts.

Had the opportunity to have conversation with an old lady, around 48 years of age. Tried to share the Gospel to her but she was too entrenched in a sort of Legalistic Lutheran Pentecostalism or something. She also seemed to take issue with young men, since she treated me and my words with little respect and attention. Apparently in her mind she’s perfectly learned already. In reality she was sadly unteachable. 10 minutes to the conversation after trying to at least make a clear presentation of the Gospel I ended our talk. May the Lord of all the earth do right. Pray for her.

We gave out the last of our tracts. Kim bought us soda, which was real kind of him. Talked to Kim about the lady I talked to, apparently he had similar experiences before. This was the first time for me.

Realized that we handed out 60 pieces of Gospel Tracts in 2 hours and had a couple of good conversations with people.

6pm

Invited Kim for dinner since my Birthday is on the 14th. He didn’t believe me at first though. Had great conversation yet again with Kim concerning issues surrounding our respective congregations concerning the Gospel and the person of Jesus Christ. It was a great privilege to be able to fellowship with him and talk about the things of God and the exultation of our Lord and Savior.

Around 8:30pm we went on our way home.

I took a detour, I passed by the mall to get a bit of exercise. Was able to play the arcade dance game once to at least get my muscles stretched a bit. Went straight home after. I just spent 15 minutes in the mall.

Arrived home around 11pm.

Prepared myself for another work day.
